We were visiting Matagorda last weekend and met a friend at Spoonbills.  The food was wonderful!  We had the nut crusted fish, fried shrimp and key lime on oreo crust.  Absolutely enjoyed the atmosphere.  It was such a nice surprise to walk into a beach town restaurant that is not typical in decor.  The small house with colorful walls, lots of windows, hardwood floors and fun music is a great addition to Matagorda restaurants.
